Note taking

I love taking notes, specifically on paper. I prefer it to typing notes and recording audio/video lectures. I’m a very visual learner (like most people), so having everything written down in front of me is the best way for me to learn. I know this may not be the case for all students learning English, but I thought I’d share some of my favourites! There are honestly too many methods out there to go over each one, but these will be simple to copy (or print), colour-coded (if you want) and easily searchable when you want to find that article you jotted down a month ago.

If you’re a fan of taking notes you might be interested in how I take notes. I think it is helpful to talk about two subjects: how I take notes and what kind of notes I love to take. But before we get into that let me tell you why I need to share this with you; it’s because writing on paper brings so many benefits to learning, that I want to encourage everyone to write more.

Notetaking is a joy for me. I’ve been notetaking since I was in primary school. I’m grateful for the techniques and skills that I acquired for taking notes and being able to remember what I learned in class. I hope you find this advice useful if this is something that interests you too.
