How to take the perfect shot: Take your time. Maybe you want to rush things, you’ve been waiting for this moment all day, but let me tell you what rushing won’t get you. It won’t get you the perfect shot… or even a good one let alone “meh”. You need to sit down, relax. Breath in breath out. Check the light twice maybe even three times. More often than not, people in photoshoots are pretty uncomfortable with a camera on them. Especially if they’re wearing something they don’t see themselves or haven’t worn in a while. So it’s important that before you start clicking away (which is why we have lights, right?) our subject is comfortable with being there.

It takes time and patience to get a good shot in photography. And if you’re just starting out, it’s very easy to get discouraged right off the bat. You may be thinking to yourself “There is no way that I could take a great photo like those on National Geographic or Discovery Channel.” But, let me tell you that in reality all of those photographers have spent longer than you have reading, shooting, and testing their equipment and techniques.

You’ve got your camera in hand and know how to take a good photo. But what about those photos you take that can be improved by changing a few minor things? In this article I’ll offer some tips on how to improve the quality of your images.
